Through our regular interaction with our members at meetings and events, we receive feedback on how the Chamber is performing – it is always constructive and helpful. As a membership organisation we are committed to continuous improvement - to understand what’s working, what we need to do more of or less of, and other suggestions we should consider. Delivering value to our membership group is our #1 priority. In December we plan to conduct a survey to formally gather feedback from our diverse range of member companies, as well as those companies that are lapsed members. I am mindful of the ‘over-surveying’ that goes on in today’s world, however, the Chamber hasn’t conducted a survey of any significance for over 5 years and we don’t plan to survey you every year! We’ll use the results to help shape our efforts and plans for the next 1-3 years. The results will also be summarised and made available to all members. Vanessa Ganguim Immigration Lawyers| A guide on eVisas and Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA)
Chamber members with physical immigration documents proving their UK immigration status should be aware that from 1 January 2025 these will no longer be valid proof of a right to work, study, rent or travel to the UK. If you have not yet applied for an eVisa to evidence your status, the UK government is urging everyone to start the usually simple process as soon as possible. The other big development Australians should be aware of is that those coming to the UK as visitors after 8 January 2025 will have to apply for the new ETA. |

4th December|End of Year Young Professionals Reception
The Chamber, in partnership with NAB, BHP and Telstra hosted the End of Year Young Professionals Reception themed ‘Ngurra’ an Aboriginal word meaning 'home', ‘community’ and ‘a place of belonging'.
The Hon Stephen Smith, Australian High Commissioner to the UK delivered opening remarks, and John McClusky, Head of Europe at NAB provided the welcome address as the primary sponsor.
The event featured a captivating performance from our special guest speaker Naarah, winner of the 2024 NAIDOC Week 'Creative Talent Award' and Tasmania's 2024 Young Australian of the Year.

26th November| The Australian Federal Election Briefing
The Chamber, in partnership with CT Group, hosted The Australian federal election breakfast briefing, exploring the upcoming Australian federal election.
Opening remarks were delivered by Mark Domitrak, Global Head of Research at CT Group, followed by insightful presentations from Nathan Rath and Rosanna Beart, also from CT Group.

20th November| Critical Minerals - A Panel Discussion with Industry Leaders
The Chamber in partnership with National Australia Bank, hosted the ‘Critical Minerals - A Panel Discussion with Industry Leaders’ at Australia House.
Opening remarks were delivered by the Hon. Stephen Smith, Australian High Commissioner to the UK, and David Camerlengo from Austrade. Moderated by Helen Beatty, Partner at Herbert Smith Freehills, the panel included: -Jeff Townsend, Founder and CEO, Critical Minerals Association in Australia and the UK. -Nick Woolfitt, Head of Specialised Finance Europe, National Australia Bank. -Darryn Quayle, Vice President, Resources, Worley.
