One of the Chamber’s key activities is connecting people and organisations. We do this mainly through the hosting of events – both large networking events as well as small roundtable discussions – as well as through personal introductions to fellow Chamber members. Creating, developing and supporting relationships is fundamental to how the Chamber operates. Our small team that has been together for 3 years now has provided a stable and familiar group for our members to connect with and work with. So, I thought it appropriate to shine the spotlight on the Chamber team that many of you know, have seen their names in Chamber communications, or seen rushing around at events! It’s this group that deliver on the foundation stone of building relationships and membership value. Nicole Kostova – Membership Engagement & Development Manager. This is Nicole’s first full-time role out of university and her abilities and communications skills are beyond her young years. She steers the Young Professionals network and is a key link to nearly everyone reading this newsletter.
Vera Carvalho-Pacey- Marketing Manager. Never one for the spotlight, she manages our marketing and communications and event delivery. Calm and professional – a vital team member. |

Dick Porter – Chair of the Board - a constant over the past 14 years with the Chamber, 5 as Chair. Dick’s steady hand and experience are invaluable, along with his long-term perspective of the Australia-UK relationship. We’ve enjoyed the extraordinary range of people we’ve worked with – and we’re looking forward to continuing to build relationships across government, the private public sector and education.

Appointment of High Commissioner to the UK
The Australian Government has announced the appointment of the Honourable Jay Weatherill AO as Australia's next High Commissioner to the United Kingdom. Mr Weatherill, who served as South Australia's 45th Premier for over six years, brings extensive experience in defence, renewable energy, and environmental policy. He was instrumental in establishing South Australia's leadership in the defence industry, particularly in submarine construction, positioning him well to advance AUKUS priorities. Mr Weatherill will commence his appointment in the new year, succeeding the Hon Stephen Smith, who has represented Australia's interests with distinction, particularly on security and defence matters including Ukraine support.. |
